Dowdy

The cold and wet weather was really making me feel dowdy. Fed up with my winter clothes, itching to wear warmer weather clothes but knowing I'd have been cold.

''Miss Kinsman was dowdy, another of the words that couldn't be translated in to Russian, because there was no way of suggesting a dismal unfashionableness which was not intentional, not slovenly, not disreputable, but simply Miss Kinsman's way of looking herself .'Penelope Fitzgerald the begining of spring

Roll on summer and summer clothes... But I know come September I'll be looking forward to snuggling in autumnal layers.

  2. Oh me too, I feel soooo frumpy. I saw a lady today with a blazing orange scarf and a purple mac, she looked fab. maybe the secret is colour with thin layers. I love the pinkness of that skirt.

    1. Lilac - Yes I'm sure colour helps. I'm collecting coloured tights that helps, although today I'm back in black!

    1. Sunday - I think the majority of the UK are longing for warmer times, but no doubt we'll complain if it gets too warm. Enjoy your warm weather.

  4. I can't wait for bare legs and sandals without interruption! Having lived in places that really don't do seasons, I must say it's one of the things I appreciate most about the UK. It's fun having the opportunity to change things around - by September I'll be dying to pull the shoes and boots out again! Donna

  8. Hey! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this site?
I'm getting fed up of Wordpress because I've had
problems with hackers and I'm looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be great if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
