In honour of Wimbledon

@

There were never strawberries
like the ones we had
that sultry afternoon
sitting on the step
of the open french window
facing each other
your knees held mine
the blue plates in our laps
the strawberries glistening
in the hot sunlight
we dipped them in sugar
looking at each other
not hurryng the feast...
Edwin Morgan
Reading this poem just made me want to sit outside in the sun and eat some.

  2. Sounds lovely, strawberries with sugar is one of my favorite treats! And eating strawberries at Wimbledon is definitely on my life wish list.

  3. Yum! The Strawberries are so delicious right now - they only ever taste right during the summer on hot days. Even though you can now buy them all year round, its just not right eating them in the cold months!
