bobbed and nodded

Now it's September and school has started again I'm ready for Autumn. Over the past few years I've collected an assortment of berets that I wear. Partly through having short hair they keep my head warm and also they stop hair frizzing when it's that annoying damp drizzle, not enough for an umbrella but enough to ruin one's hair.

'they were both wearing hats like nothing on earth, which bobbed and nodded as they spoke.' Evelyn Waugh Vile Bodies

I spied some lovely ones in Marks and Spencers but for the purpose of this post...

What will you be wearing on your head this autumn?

  1. Just thinking yesterday I need a new titfer, I much prefer a good hat to an umbrella that turns itself inside out when least desired.

    1. Lilac - Love the word 'titfer'. Hope you find one & enjoy wearing it.

  2. Was essentials shopping with my daughter at the weekend when a lovely little grey felt hat in M&S caught our eye. Luckily, as it suits us both, I've justified the expense as 'a family hat'. I may need to draw up a rota for wearing it though!

  3. Still looking for the perfect hat. M&S do have a nice autumn connection. Like Lilac, I hate umbrellas so much I'd rather get wet.

    1. Vintage - I wonder if each outfit has it's own perfect hat? Then that would mean many hats...

  4. Oh, Miss J. Hunter Dunn, I love the suit! Have recently bought a hat with feathers (seen in my Miss Cellany blog) but hope I don't look like Angelica Deverell in it!

  5. I don't usually wear a hat, have never liked myself in them. But love looking at others wearing hats. And of course in your part of the world, everyone wears them with such flair!

  7. I believe what you wrote made a bunch of sense. But, what about this?
suppose you added a little information? I mean, I don't want to tell you how to run your website, but suppose you added a title that makes people want more? I mean "bobbed and nodded" is a little vanilla. You should glance at Yahoo's front page
and watch how they create article titles to get viewers interested.
You might add a related video or a related picture or two
to get people interested about what you've got to say. In my opinion, it would make your posts a little bit more interesting.

  8. I have been browsing online more than 2 hours today, yet I never
found any interesting article like yours.
It's pretty worth enough for me. Personally, if all webmasters and bloggers made good content as you did, the internet will be much more useful than ever before.

  12. My coder is trying to persuade me to move to .net from PHP.
I have always disliked the idea because of the costs.
But he's tryiong none the less. I've been using Movable-type on various websites for
about a year and am concerned about switching to another platform.
I have heard fantastic things about blogengine.

net. Is there a way I can import all my wordpress posts into it?

Any kind of help would be really appreciated!
