sitting in the garden

One flower bed is looking especially gorgeous this summer. I think it might be something to do with an abundance of foxgloves.

"They were sitting in the garden. The acacia, after dying back twice, had recovered and was full of milky flowers. The borders had thrown up blue and white spikes of lupin, white foxgloves and bell flowers." Elizabeth Cambridge Hostages to Fortune

Perhaps sitting admiring the garden is another criterion for a beautiful day?

  1. Foxgloves always take me back to my grandparent's garden: the borders would be full of them in all different colours every summer.
A place to sit like the one shown above would be bliss right now!

    1. Tonia - Foxgloves & grandparents feel like they should go together. And oh to have an outside space like the photo.

  2. How funny - I have just bought Foxgloves and Lupins to plant in our newly weeded borders - am trying to get a cottage garden type thing going on, so hope they flourish! xCathy

    1. Cathy - I think I read that foxgloves are loving our wet summer. So hope they flourish for you, somehow they make any border look cottage gardeny.
