"Three months' vacation! how I shall enjoy it!" exclaimed Meg, coming home one warm day...
"What shall you do all your vacation?" asked Amy...
"I shall lie abed late, and do nothing," replied Meg, from the depths of the rocking chair. "...now I'm going to rest and revel to my heart's content."
"Hum!" said Jo; "that dozy way wouldn't suit me. I've laid in a heap of books, and I'm going to improve my shining hours reading on my perch in the old-apple tree..." Louise May Alcott Little Women

I intend to be a bit of Meg and Jo - lying abed late reading.
I have a busy first week of the holidays, but after that week I intend to do some JoMegging too, lovely photo
ReplyDeleteLilac - I think JoMegging may become the word of my holiday. Enjoy yours.
DeleteI have 2 weeks off at the end of August which will be spent JoMegging, eating and paddling in the sea - can't wait!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your last day of work!
Tonia - oooh yes being by the sea reading & lazing sounds perfect.
DeleteI work at a library and so enjoy watching teachers get ever more giddy as the end of the school year approaches. It's also nice to see university students stop by for a 'pleasure read' of their choosing instead of something assigned.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time off, you have really earned it!
Darlene - Thank you for your good wishes. How is your daughter?
DeleteGood for you ... but I was really picturing you an a perch in an old apple tree reading your books! Do you have such a thing? xCathy
ReplyDeleteCathy - We do have an old apple tree but alas I'm not sure how comfortable it would be to read in, maybe we should use the branches to hang a hammock?
DeleteJoy, joy, joy! A summer of reading awaits. What a worthwhile way of spending your holiday. I plan to do the same.
ReplyDeleteLaura - The glory of summer holidays. Hope your move doesn't interrupt your planned reading too much.
