"I remember them from my childhood; the Paris chocolateries with their baskets of foil-wrapped eggs, shelves of rabbits and hens, bells, marzipan fruits and marron glaces, amourettes and filigree nests filled with petits fours and caramels and a thousand and one epiphanies of spun-sugar magic-carpet rides more suited to an Arabian harem than the solemnities of the Passion." Joanne Harris Chocolat
Our house is awash with chocolate, somehow we're resisting. Today I'm baking
these for my godson and his siblings. Not quite as elegant as this passage but just as delicious.
What chocolate will you be eating?
Aha! I think you may have just reminded me of the perfect book for Spring. And reminded me to go buy mini eggs As Soon As Possible.
ReplyDeleteTonia - oh yes you're right. It has been staring me in the face - plus I have another Chocolat post planned. How dense of me!
DeleteOh my goodness, my teeth ache just thinking about your baked goodies but you'll be a hit with the kids!
ReplyDeleteDarlene - With a cup of tea they weren't too sweet for adults either!
DeleteJust consumed a Thorntons chocolate bunny. Not as big as an Easter egg so refuse to feel guilty!
DeleteYes absolutely refuse to feel guilty about it.
