a goodly smell

Today is the first day of my maternity leave, and I'm looking forward to leisurely delicious breakfasts. No more branflakes at 6.30am.

'The breakfast had a goodly smell to it. There were croissants, and two fresh rolls, and twists of very yellow butter, and a jar of honey, and a steaming pot of coffee. There was also a new packet of Toblerone chocolate and three sucettes on sticks, all of them different colours. He ate all the sucettes and half the Toblerone, before he started on his breakfast.' 1. And now I'm hungry for breakfast all over again. Enjoy your maternity leave - I loved mine, all that legitimate napping in the afternoon!

    1. Tonia - I've always loved an afternoon nap but they've recently lengthened from one hour to two & a half hours.

  2. Enjoy your nesting time. In case this is your last post I wanted to pass on something my sister (mother of 4) told me when I was expecting; a natural birth is no make up, no jewellery....

    1. Lilac - I know it's strange thinking it could be any day.... I've gone off wearing jewellery already, even my wedding ring has come off.

  5. I usually end up not having time for breakfast so the rolls with butter sound heavenly.
Enjoy your leisurely breakfasts and sleeping in!

    1. Anbolyn - I used to often skip breakfast but discovered no breakfast & being pregnant was not an option. Hope you have time for breakfast today.
