One of the lovely ladies I follow on Twitter referred to her 'Autumn wardrobe of lipsticks'. It made me smile. Then I read this passage in South Riding.
'I regard lipstick as a symbol of self-respect, of interest in one's appearance, of a hopeful and self-assured attitude towards life,' Winifred Holtby South Riding

How do I regard lipstick? In a word: essential!

I am sending this quote to my mom. She's never said as much but this is exactly the way she thinks about it, and has never left the house without lipstick since I've known her!
ReplyDeleteMargaret - perfect comment.
ReplyDeletehip hip - I hope your mum likes the quote.
I'm a Clinique fan myself. Their lipsticks are light and a bit glossy - although not too glossy for women in their forties!
ReplyDeleteNicola - I'm waiting to finish up some of my MAC ones and then I would like a new autumn lipstick. Maybe I'll look in duty free tomorrow.
